In late May, 1970, Frank Zappa hired Mark Volman (Flo) and Howard Kaylan (Eddie), formerly of the Turtles, as lead vocalists. They remained in the band until December, 1971. This incarnation of the Mothers is sometimes refered to as the "vaudeville band". They are featured on the albums 200 Motels, Fillmore East--June 1971, Just Another Band From L.A., and Playground Psychotics, and parts of Chunga's Revenge and You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore.
