I seem to recall that there's something in there that is essentially a bassoon part. Probably we were thinking that a clarinet with enough wires attached to boxes could believably be making that sound. But Frank did not right off the bat tell me we were going to lip-synch. In our initial discussion about the piece and what was available instrumentally, he was most concerned about having Clavinet, and wanted to be sure we could get one. He wasn't really interested in the piece unless he could have the Clavinet.
